Turning competency standards into real learning

We design and support competency-based learning, embedding the standard into curriculum, pedagogy, and classroom practice. Our work is grounded in active, project-based pedagogies; aligned to national curriculum requirements; and orientated toward education for sustainability and real-world problem solving.

We provide end-to-end programme support that connects lesson design, teacher practice, learner tasks, and assessment back to the same competency outcomes.

UNICEF & Department of Basic Education

Since 2023, we have been the implementer of one of the largest 21st-century skills programme rollouts in South African public education — a full, systems-level intervention spanning teacher training, curriculum support, infrastructure, and community activation. This includes:

Training for teachers and officials on both content and 21st-century competencies
Support on lesson design and instructional delivery, grounded in active pedagogies
Learner competitions and showcases that make competence visible and aspirational
Action research to learn from the field and refine implementation
Change management and stakeholder engagement across all levels of the system
Establishing Coding & Robotics / STEAMIE hubs as shared community assets
